Can the Cleveland Browns win without any wide receivers?
We heard the news earlier today that linebacker B.J. Goodson tested positive for COVID-19. The team was conducting contact tracing, and the news isn’t good: the Browns’ entire group of wide receivers is out (those who have received playing time).
Browns officially placed four WRs on the Reserve/COVID list: Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and KhaDarel Hodge. Browns LB Jacob Phillip also added to COVID list. Those five players are out Sunday vs. Jets.

The wide receivers out include Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and KhaDarel Hodge. In addition, linebacker Jacob Phillips was also deemed a close contact.
Can we wheel Odell Beckham Jr. back onto the field, pretty please?
This means that Cleveland’s available wide receivers on Sunday will likely be WR Marvin Hall, WR Ja’Marcus Bradley, and WR Derrick Willies. Combined, they do not have a single catch all season for Cleveland. LB Montrel Meander is also being called up from the practice squad.
This could be a week in which the Browns utilize Kareem Hunt, Harrison Bryant, and David Njoku in some wide receiver alignments, which they might actually get away with against a bad Jets defense. In addition, you’d have to think that Mayfield’s chemistry would be better with those guys than the new receivers.
The Browns also feature a top-tier rushing attack, and if this disaster was going to strike against any team in the NFL, you’d want it to be against the Jets. Nothing comes easy.
The Browns are set to depart from Cleveland at 7:00 PM, headed for New York, after a 4+ hour delay.
