Yes, adding some big-play pop to the offense figures to be on the priority list, too, but in April’s NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns must first think about disrupting opposing quarterbacks. The Browns have nine draft picks and probably don’t have plans to use them all on a roster that advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs last season. But ahead of the start of the league year, some draft-related guesses are easier than others.
The Browns need to upgrade their pass rush and their pass coverage. Even if they re-sign a few of the seven 2020 defensive contributors who are eligible for free agency, they still need an immediate starter at defensive end and more talent across the secondary. It’s not a surprise, then, that our first full Browns mock draft starts with adding blue-chip prospects in those spots.
