Draymond Green finally speaks out after late-game ejection in Warriors-Hornets matchup - SF Gate

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green has finally addressed his ejection in the final seconds of last Saturday's nailbiter against the Charlotte Hornets.

"I'd say immediately after that game I was kind of pissed off, just on my feelings on the whole situation, on how the first tech went down more so than the second tech were my initial feelings," he said in a Monday presser, according to NBC Sports Bay Area.

"As I sat and I thought about the situation and reassessed as I had time to let the whole thing marinate and digest, I was dead-ass wrong," he added. "Not that I was wrong, like I said, for the first tech. But once I had the first tech, I can't get the second tech. I was a bit disappointed. I'm still a bit disappointed in myself because I think that whole situation bothered me."

He added that his ejection this weekend was more disappointing than his suspension in the 2016 NBA Finals, ESPN's Nick Friedell reported, because he felt he had more control in the recent matchup.

During last Saturday's bout, Green was seemingly livid after Hornets coach James Borrego called a timeout after he tied up Gordon Hayward. He argued that another jump ball should have been called instead of granting the Hornets a timeout, yelling at officials and other players. He was ejected after that call with two technicals — one for profanity at a player, another for profanity at a referee.

Hornets upstart Terry Rozier hit two technical free throws to tie the game, then hit a buzzer beater to win the game, 102-100.

After the incident, Warriors coach Steve Kerr gently took Green to task: “We love his passion and his energy and we would not be the team we are without him. But that doesn't give him license to cross the line — and he knows that.”

The Warriors are now 16-15, good for the eighth playoff seed so far with just under two weeks left until the All-Star Game. They face the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, hopefully with a healthy Steph Curry.
