Patrick Mahomes saluted the GOAT after coming up short in Super Bowl 2021.
“You’re a legend, man,” Mahomes told Tom Brady after the Chiefs fell to the Buccaneers, 31-9, on Sunday.
Brady responded, “You’re a stud, bro.”
The Super Bowl was billed as a can’t-miss matchup between Brady, the 43-year-old ageless wonder, and Mahomes, the 25-year-old some already consider one of the best quarterbacks of all-time.
But while Brady did his part, throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns en route to winning his record seventh Super Bowl — more than any NFL franchise — and fifth MVP award, Mahomes threw two interceptions as the Chiefs failed to score a touchdown.
The Big Game marked the second playoff meeting between the two quarterbacks, with Brady winning the first in the 2019 AFC championship.

After that game, Brady famously pulled Mahomes aside for a pep talk.
Mahomes won the Super Bowl and MVP award the following season.
