New York Giants at Washington Football Team (-3.5)

The Giants are dealing with several notable injuries on offense. Engram missed the season opener with his calf injury and apparently hasn't recovered enough just yet to feel comfortable suiting up. Lemieux will also miss Week 2 after playing 17 snaps in the season opener, and to make matters worse, Barkley is questionable. Coming off of a torn ACL from last season, Barkley has been a limited participant in practice all week. He played just 29 snaps in the season opener and rushed 10 times for 26 yards.

Washington will be without Fitzpatrick for the next 6-8 weeks or so, but on a positive note, star running back Antonio Gibson (shoulder) did not receiving an injury designation for the game. He was a limited participant in practice Monday, but returned as a full participant Tuesday.

Defensive lineman Arik Armstead (hip, adductor) was among the 49ers not practicing on Wednesday. Coach Kyle Shanahan said the team is being cautious with him and expects Armstead to suit up against the Eagles. DT Javon Kinlaw (knee), CB Emmanuel Moseley (knee), and LB Dre Greenlaw (groin) were also held out of practice. Meanwhile, DE Dee Ford (ankle) and LB Marcell Harris (oblique) were limited.

Philadelphia had a number of notable players listed on its initial injury report, including Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Darius Slay and Miles Sanders. However, the team signaled that it was simply a rest day for those stars. Receiver J.J. Arcedga-Whiteside did not practice due to an ankle injury and safety Rodney McLeod (knee) was limited. Defensive end Ryan Kerrigan didn't practice due to a personal matter.

The Patriots had two starters who did not practice Wednesday, as offensive tackle Trent Brown is dealing with a calf issue and linebacker Kyle Van Noy was out due to an interesting designation: "throat." Offensive tackle Yodny Cajuste (hamstring) and linebacker Ronnie Perkins (shoulder) were limited participants.

New York saw receiver Keelan Cole (knee) practice on a limited basis to begin the week and linebacker Jamien Sherwood (ankle) was the lone non-participant. Receiver Jamison Crowder (reserve/COVID-19) also has one more day to clear protocol.

Cincinnati held a walkthrough practice on Wednesday so their injury statuses are merely projections. That said, quarterback Joe Burrow (knee) and safety Brandon Wilson (thumb) were listed a full participants. Corner Trae Waynes (hamstring) also would not have practiced.

The good news for Chicago is that both offensive tackle Jason Peters (quad) and nose tackle Eddie Goldman (knee, ankle) practiced Wednesday on a limited basis. Robert Quinn (back) was also limited. Fellow linebacker Khalil Mack was not listed on the report, meaning he's not dealing with any notable injuries after being questionable for Week 1 with a groin injury before ultimately playing.

Anthony Miller -- who was dealing with a dislocated shoulder this preseason and didn't play in the opener -- is not listed on the Texans' initial Week 2 injury report. Head coach David Culley said Miller could have played against Jacksonville if necessary, but Danny Amendola (five catches, TD) was able to provide an outlet for Tyrod Taylor. Safety Lonnie Johnson (thigh) was the lone Texan limited Wednesday. Meanwhile, tight end Pharaoh Brown, corner Desmond King (knee), linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis (thigh) and receiver Andre Roberts (knee) did not practice. Deshaun Watson was also a non-participant, but that is not injury-related.

The big news out of Cleveland is that head coach Kevin Stefanski has already ruled receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (knee) out for Sunday's matchup. Beckham was limited in practice, but the team still appears to be easing him back after tearing his ACL last year. Jack Conklin (knee), Jedrick Wills (ankle), and JC Tretter (knee) headline those absent from practice. Greg Newsome II (biceps), Anthony Schwartz (knee) and Mack Wilson (quad) were all limited.

Guard Graham Glasgow did not practice on Wednesday after leaving MetLife Stadium in an ambulance on Sunday due to an irregular heartbeat. Broncos coach Vic Fangio said his status for Week 2 is in doubt but noted "everything's so far, so good" in regards to his initial tests. If Glasgow can't play, Netane Muti would slot in at right guard. Outside linebacker Bradley Chubb (ankle) and defensive linemen Shelby Harris (wrist) and Shamar Stephen practiced on a limited basis.

The Jaguars limited defensive ends Jordan Smith (knee) and Lerentee McCray (hamstring) in practice along with corner Tyson Campbell (calf). Corner Tre Herndon (knee) did not participate.

The only player who did not participate Wednesday for the Bills due to injury was wide receiver Gabriel Davis, who is nursing an ankle injury. Defensive tackle Star Lotulelei (calf), wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie (shoulder) and linebacker Matt Milano (ankle) were all limited participants.

Miami, meanwhile, had full attendance at practice with tight end Adam Shaheen (knee), linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (back), and receiver Preston Williams (foot) the lone players limited.

New Orleans had a number of players listed as non-participants to begin the week: linebacker Kwon Alexander (elbow), defensive end Marcus Davenport (shoulder), defensive end Tanoh Kpassagnon (calf), corner Marshon Lattimore (hand), center Erik McCoy (calf), quarterback Trevor Siemian (illness), linebacker Pete Werner (hamstring) and defensive back PJ Williams (back). Naturally, all of their statuses will be worth monitoring as the week progresses.

Everyone was present and accounted for in Carolina on Wednesday, but defensive lineman DaQuan Jones was a limited participant with a groin injury. The Panthers also had a couple of offensive guards who were limited in John Miller (illness) and Pat Elflein (hip).

Aaron Donald received a rest day with the Rams and did not participate in practice. He did, however, take part in individual drills. Fellow defensive lineman A'Shawn Robinson (knee) was the line Ram who didn't practice due to injury.

Offensive tackle Eric Fisher (Achilles) was limited in practice for the Colts on Wednesday and said he is "feeling real good" as he inches closer to making his debut. Defensive ends Al-Quadin Muhammad (ankle), Kwity Paye (hamstring) and Kemoko Turay (groin) joined Fisher as limited participants. Meanwhile, linebacker Darius Leonard (ankle), guard Quenton Nelson (foot/back), corner Xavier Rhodes (calf), tackle Braden Smith (foot) did not practice.

Las Vegas conducted a walkthrough Wednesday, so this injury report is an estimation of what participation would have been had the team gone full speed. Guard Richie Incognito was listed as a non-participant due to a calf injury. The team said running back Josh Jacob (toe, ankle), linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski (concussion), quarterback Marcus Mariota (quad), defensive end Carl Nassib (pectoral/toe) and safety Roderic Teamer (ankle) wouldn't have practiced either. Defensive end Yannick Ngakoue was limited due to a hamstring injury he suffered Monday night.

The Steelers sat quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, but those were the coach's decision. Linebacker Robert Spillane (shin) and defensive tackle Carlos Davis (knee) were limited.

Minnesota again didn't have linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) to begin practice this week. Meanwhile, corner Harrison Hand (hamstring) didn't practice, and tackle Christian Darrisaw (groin) and linebacker Nick Vigil (ankle) were limited.

Starting right tackle Kelvin Beachum did not practice Wednesday after leaving Arizona's opening win over the Titans due to a rib injury. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury noted that he isn't sure if Beachum will be able to play Sunday. Linebacker Devon Kennard (hamstring) and safety Charles Washington (thigh) were the only other two Cardinals not practicing due to injury.

Atlanta did not list any players on its initial injury report.

As for the Buccaneers, linebacker Jason Pierre-Paul (hand) was limited. Safety Jordan Whitehead (hamstring), linebacker Shaquil Barrett (back) and receiver Antonio Brown (knee) were all full participants.

The Titans had some notable names listed on their Wednesday injury report. Pass-rusher Bud Dupree was the only DNP due to a knee injury. Star wide receiver A.J. Brown (knee), tight end Anthony Firkser (knee), pass-rusher Harold Landry (groin) and linebacker David Long (hamstring) were limited participants.

Seattle gave rest days to Chris Carson and Duane Brown, who were both limited on Wednesday. Guard Gabe Jackson also was given a rest day but didn't practice at all. Running back Rashaad Penny (calf) was a notable who did not take part in practice to begin the week.

DeMarcus Lawrence left practice Wednesday with a broken foot that could sideline the star defensive end six to eight weeks. Safety Donovan Wilson (groin) was the only other Cowboys player who missed practice due to injury. Of course, Dallas also won't have receiver Michael Gallup (placed on IR) for this game.

After missing two days of practice and being limited during another last week, running back Austin Ekeler did not appear on the Chargers' first injury report of the week. Derwin James Jr. (toe), Justin Jones (calf), Chris Harris Jr. (shoulder), Kyler Fackrell (knee), Bryan Bulaga (groin, back), Nasir Adderley (groin) all did not practice. Trey Marshall (ankle) was limited.

Safety Tyrann Mathieu did not even appear on Kansas City's injury report, signaling that he was a full participant after being activated off the COVID-19 list on Saturday but not playing in the regular season opener. Frank Clark (hamstring) was a full participant, as was Tyreek Hill, who was listed with a toe injury.

Marquise Brown (ankle), Ronnie Stanley (ankle), Chris Westry (knee) and Derek Wolfe (back, hip) all did not practice on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Marlon Humphrey (back) and Jimmy Smith (ankle) along with Daelin Hayes (knee) were all limited.

Analysis to come.
