The Phoenix Suns took care of business in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Los Angeles Clippers. Despite holding on for a 1-0 lead, they nearly allowed Paul George and Co. to storm back late. Both teams will be without their top stars -- Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard -- as the series continues Tuesday night and it is the Suns who own a slim lead after 36 minutes of play in Phoenix.
Paul will miss Game 2 due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, but if Devin Booker continues playing at such a high level, the Suns should have a solid chance at going up 2-0. Booker put together his first career triple-double (40 points, 13 rebounds and 11 assists) to help claim the opener. Paul George led the way for Los Angeles with 34 points, while Reggie Jackson provided 24 of his own in the losing effort.
