Caleb Plant has apologised to Canelo Alvarez over comments made about the Mexican boxer's mother.
The American made the apology to Canelo Alvarez after their fight on Saturday night, in which Plant was knocked out in the 11th round.
"He told me after the fight that he wanted to keep fighting, that he wanted to continue,' Canelo revealed in his post-fight press conference.
"He also apologised to me and said what he said about my mother. He didn't really mean it and that he was truly sorry for that.
"I told him 'It's ok, it's water under the bridge'.
"I told him he is a great man and I told him one day I hope he has a great family as well. I only wish the best for him."
