Ciryl Gane captured the UFC interim heavyweight championship at UFC 265 without taking so much as a scratch on his face.
Gane dominated Derrick Lewis from bell to bell, breaking down the heavyweight knockout leader at distance before moving in to finish at the 4:11 mark of the third round.
Gane will now move on to face undisputed heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, whose request for one-month delay led to the decision to put up an interim title.
Seeing hometown favorite Lewis lose, the crowd at the Toyota Center was far more happy for UFC 265’s co-headliner Jose Aldo cruise to victory in a masterful performance over Pedro Munhoz.
Here’s what fighters had to say about UFC 265.

What is a dream fight past or present regardless of weight class?
Aldo has to be on top of that list.

Don’t be upset when you leave it to the judges.
— Platinum Mike Perry (@PlatinumPerry) August 8, 2021
I was going to tweet that the fight was so close that it didn't matter how Texas judges fucked up the scoring... 30-27?? I was wrong. #UFC265
