Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond has had an inconsistent week at the Senior Bowl, but Saturday's performance in the actual game may change some of the narratives about his draft stock. Mond tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the third quarter, the first on a strike in coverage to Clemson's Amari Rodgers and the other on a well-placed ball to Tennessee's Josh Palmer to give his team the lead.
By the end of the third quarter, Mond was 11-for-20 passing for 144 yards and two scores after getting the start for Team American — a much better showing than his offense's effort in the first half. He finished with 173 yards through the air and earned MVP honors in the contest.
Following Thursday's practice in Mobile, Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline graded Mond's week up to that point.
"It was an up and down practice for Mond," Pauline wrote. "He made some beautiful throws on occasion, especially between the numbers, then he followed up with wayward passes. Particularly, his tosses out to the flanks. Mond also seems to think too much in the pocket rather than making quick reads and decisions."

Per GigEm247, Mond threw for 9,661 yards and 71 touchdowns with 27 interceptions during his career with the Aggies and improved his completion percentage every season. He also ran for 1,608 yards and 22 more scores as one of the SEC's most dependable dual-threat options as a multi-year starter under center.
The Aggies finished one win short of a College Football Playoff berth during Mond's final campaign, his most complete in College Station.
Earlier this week, Mond clocked in at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds. His wingspan was listed at just over 80 inches, and his hand size was measured at 9.25 inches. Mond’s arms were also measured at 33 inches.
Asked what he learned from Texas A&M coach Jimbo Fisher last month, Mond responded by saying that he has really come to admire his head coach’s level of commitment.
“I mean, yeah, we've definitely spent a lot of time together,” Mond said.” I think it's probably the one person that I've ever met who is so passionate about football and probably can be even more passionate that probably all the players that he's ever had, just because players, we have school and all these other things to focus on.
“From probably 7:30 in the morning to late at night, he's doing something football related, whether it was watching film or probably some type of recruiting. I mean, he's probably one of the most passionate people about football that I've ever met."
CBS Sports ranks Mond 11th out of 11 draft-eligible quarterbacks available later this year, per its recent position notes.
