Good morning, New York Giants fans! And yes, it’s a good morning despite Doug Pederson blowing up the Giants’ opportunity to win the NFC East by playing Nate Sudfeld at quarterback in the fourth quarter Sunday night against the Washington Football Team.
Pederson panned
Giants players, and ex-players, weren’t happy with the Eagles coach.
You play the game to win point blank period JJ Watt said it best the other day outside of how it effects us this just disrespectful to the game
— Darius Slayton (@Young_Slay2) January 4, 2021
Pederson claimed he was playing to win the game.
“I was coaching to win,” Pederson claimed afterward, noting that he wasn’t receiving orders from the front office. “That was my decision solely. Nate has been here obviously four years and I felt that he deserved an opportunity to get some snaps.” ...
“Listen,” Pederson continued, “if there is anything out there that thinks I was not trying to win the game I mean, [Zach] Ertz is out there, Brandon Graham is out there, Darius Slay is out there, all our top guys are still on the field at the end.
“We were going to win the game.”
I’m not buying what Pederson is selling. Neither are many others.

Mike McCarthy didn't challenge Dante Pettis’ catch because "it was too close" - ProFootballTalk
“No question in my mind that if Dallas would’ve challenged this it would have been reversed to an incomplete pass,” FOX rules analyst Mike Pereira, the former NFL supervisor of officials, said during the broadcast.
McCarthy didn’t challenge it, and Graham Gano kicked a 50-yard field goal with 6:27 left to give the Giants their final margin of victory.
“Just felt it was too close,” McCarthy said of the decision not to challenge the catch, via Todd Archer of ESPN. “Felt it was a bang-bang situation and the fact of the matter is we were in a tight game and the three timeouts was obviously of high value there. We just didn’t think there was enough information to overturn it.”
