Could snowfall help Bills? Ravens’ Lamar Jackson has ‘zero experience’ playing in snow - syracuse.com

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow?

In January, Buffalo generally gets hammered with snow. That has not been the case this winter, but the potential for snowfall is in the forecast this week. The snow used to benefit the Buffalo Bills this time of year during the Super Bowl era, but could it help the team on Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round of the playoffs?

You could make that case based on how it could affect the Ravens’ star player.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson admitted on Tuesday that he had never played in the snow during his football career.

“Zero experience,” Jackson said when asked about his experience playing in snow. “I never got to play in the snow... That definitely would be my first time playing football in the snow Saturday, if it does. Hopefully it don’t.”

The Ravens themselves haven’t played in a game with heavy snow since 2013, according to the Baltimore Sun. Heavy snow isn’t expected, but Baltimore is not a team that seems to have much experience playing in the elements. Even some snow falling on the field in-game could benefit Buffalo.

Left guard Bradley Bozeman, like Jackson, has never played in snow and stated that it can lead to footing issues for offensive linemen.

“I’ve never played in snow,” Bozeman stated. “I know the surface of grass so I’ve never played in snow. Big guys in slippery situations is not always a good thing so I’m gonna hope for no snow, but if it snows we’ll have to adjust and we’ll have to go from there.”

If snow makes running more difficult for Jackson and blocking more challenging for his linemen, the Bills may hope for some snowfall throughout the week and in-game.

As it stands, there is currently a 40 percent chance of snow showers in Orchard Park on Saturday night.
