The 2020 NFL regular season is officially in the books, which means for 16 teams it is now time to shift focus to the NFL draft.
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs earned the No. 1 seed in the AFC and are eyeing a second-straight Super Bowl title. The Jacksonville Jaguars enacted Operation Tank for Trevor Lawrence and pulled it off without a hitch, finishing at 1-15 to earn the No. 1 overall pick.
The 49ers' "Revenge Tour" didn't get out of the starting blocks, as injuries forced them to limp to a 6-10 finish. As such, Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch now must turn their attention to improving their roster in the 2021 NFL Draft, where they will have the No. 12 pick. Will they draft a quarterback in Round 1? Or elect to address or more pressing need?
Another year, another late-season collapse for Jon Gruden and the Raiders, who limped to a 2-5 finish to end the season at 8-8. Derek Carr should return as quarterback, but the Raiders have to improve their defense if they plan to end their long playoff drought in 2021.
With the regular season in the books, it's time for a brand new mock draft. My colleague Dalton Johnson and I usually split the duties, but he's enjoying some much-needed adult beverages to put 2020 officially in the rearview mirror. So, you're stuck with me for this edition.
Let's get to the picks.
