Aaron Rodgers seems to have rubbed the Chicago Bears the wrong way.
After Rodgers taunted the Soldier Field crowd, shouting, “All my f–king life, I own you” after scoring a touchdown to seal a Packers win on Sunday, former Bears center and Hall of Fame finalist Olin Kreutz went off on Rodgers during a radio interview.
“I’d like to punch him in his face,” Kreutz said Monday on the “Mully & Haugh” show on 670 The Score.
“We all know this is the kind of guy you are,” Kreutz said. “You’re competitive, and that’s the way you feel, and you’ve won a lot of games here at Soldier Field. Just because you’re right doesn’t make you right for doing it.”
Rodgers explained the incident after the game by saying he blacked out in the moment.
“I looked up in the stands and in the front row, all I saw was a woman giving me the double bird,” Rodgers told reporters. “So I’m not sure exactly what came out of my mouth next.”
Rodgers is 21-5 against the Bears in his career after Sunday’s win. That moved the Packers to 5-1, though Rodgers wasn’t at his best, throwing for just 195 yards.
The game looked there for the taking, but a fourth-quarter touchdown drive keyed by Rodgers extended the lead to 10. Closing it out from there was straightforward.
And even Kreutz had to admit, Rodgers was right. He does own the Bears.
Maybe he could at least be a little nicer about it.
