Canadiens' Brendan Gallagher says his house was robbed after Stanley Cup loss - New York Post

Talk about a rough couple of days.

After Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher lost in the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night in Tampa, he said he came home and found out his house was robbed.

“When your Stanley Cup dreams are crushed and you come home to find out you’ve been robbed but it’s okay,” Gallagher wrote on his verified TikTok account in a video that featured him eating a sandwich and listening to a Pitbull song. “Because pit bull has been there and done that.”

The Canadiens flew to Tampa on Tuesday, so the alleged robbery could have been committed at any time since then. Gallagher did not say which items were missing from his home or provide any additional details.

Montreal fans were devastated for the 2010 fifth-round pick, who has emerged as a fan-favorite during his nine-year career with the franchise.

“I just want to give Brendan Gallagher a hug. He deserves one,” one Canadiens fan wrote on Twitter.

One fan even offered up some sarcastic advice on how to find whoever robbed the 5-foot-9 forward: “Guys. Just look for the person in Montreal wearing Canadiens merchandise this is three sizes too small and there, you found the person who robbed Brendan Gallagher. It’s really not that hard.”

The 29-year-old has taken HabsTV on viewings of his homes in the past. His Montreal crib featured a California king bed and a beautiful bathtub – “I actually do take baths,” the forward said on the tour. His summer home in Tsawwassen, British Columbia featured a WWE championship belt, cowboy hats and a memorabilia collection.

It is not clear which of his residences was allegedly robbed, although it was more likely his home in Montreal given the season just ended. But nonetheless, it is a tough blow for Gallagher, who was three wins short of winning the Stanley Cup.

“I take nothing out of moral victories,” Gallagher said after losing Game 5 to the Lightning. “At the start of the year when we sat down as a group, our goal was to be here, we expected to be here. Regardless of what people thought of our team, expectations were to win this series.”
